Alpha 88 won't run beyond generation [resolved]

Yay to me for the first support post! I just wanted to report that I have problems getting Alpha 88 to start. I am able to open the main menu and start the game. World generation runs fine up to 100%, but on the next step I see the word "LOADING" printed on the screen, which disappears, then comes the little "spinner" progress icon and then the game freezes. When I close the game I can see a "python.exe has stopped working" error message in Windows.

I already tried deleting the world file as mentioned in the readme, which lead to a new world being generated, but still no luck. Alpha 75 ran on the same machine without Issues.

I am perfectly aware that this is an alpha and it is likely to crash / not to run on every configuration, I just wanted to give technical feedback to the devs as early as possible and to give other users the possibility to cry "Me too" to see whether this is a common problem or I'm the only one experiencing this. ;-)
