I just ran across NOWHERE. Awesome idea, I look forward to seeing how it progresses.
The description of NOWHERE and the NOWHERIANS reminds me a lot of the book Schild's Ladder by Greg Egan.
In the book, a science experiment creates a bubble universe where the fabric of spacetime follows completely different and incompatible laws to our own. The new laws are such that life emerges out of the folds and ripples of spacetime itself. It doesn't need something as rare as atoms and matter to encode life on. The concepts have at least a passing resemblance to the underlying ideas of NOWHERE.
The book goes deep into the (fictional) science of how this alien life exists functions. If you are interested in NOWHERE, you might find it interesting.

Wow, this looks like a really great book. I think I'll check it out!
Love that book, and Greg Egan (his short story collection, Luminous, has stuck with me for many years.)
Good taste, oillio!
God, I don't think my IQ is high enough to read that book, but It sounds really interesting.
Schild's Ladder has been mentioned to me a dozen times by now, I really need to get hold of that book. It sounds most intriguing.
